Round the Loch
Due to a number of
factors it was decided in 2006 to incorporate a shorter race within the main Tom Scott Road Race. This race was approx.
4 miles in length & attracted a fair numbers of competitors.
In 2007, when
a new finishing point (near to the Piper Alpha Memorial) was established for the main race ,it was found that by luck &
by chance that the Round the Loch race equated to 3.752 miles ( or 6.039kms).
Since its inception, this event has gradually grown in popularity & that the novelty of racing over
the unusual distance of 6k appears to attract many competitors.
